Toyota 3G Wireless Services Update

2022 Toyota Corolla at night

Recent advancements in wireless technology have prompted the mobile industry to shut down 3G wireless networks by the end of 2022. Unfortunately, this means that motor vehicle hardware that currently relies on 3G wireless networks will no longer function as of November 1, 2022.

Although this decision is beyond the control of Toyota and other automakers, we understand that Smyrna drivers like you will have some questions and concerns. This guide from Marietta Toyota serves to answer these questions and ensure you fully understand what this development means for your Toyota.

How Does This Effect My Toyota?

The mobile industry has decided to discontinue 3G services to make room for faster 5G networks, which means Atlanta and Kennesaw drivers with earlier 3G-equipped models will no longer be able to use connected services due to a loss of WiFi connection. Below, you will find everything you need to know about what features and Toyota models are affected by this change.

Safety Connect®

You will be able to utilize your Safety Connect® services through October 31, 2022, and can renew your Toyota Safety Connect® subscription monthly through September 30, 2022. Toyota will refund any unused portion of your paid subscription service at a prorated amount beginning November 1st, 2022.
