Our Favorite Farmers Markets in Atlanta, GA

Table with locally grown vegetables in the park

We’re about more thangreat cars at great prices at Marietta Toyota. We love our fresh produce grown by local Atlanta producers, as well. It’s a good thing there are so many great farmers markets in Atlanta, GA! We list our five favorite markets below. Any of these places would make for a great day or evening out, even if you have to drive in from Kennesaw.

Ponce City Farmers Market

If you’re into 100% organic foods that produced locally, the Ponce City Farmers Market is for you. Vendors at this market are only allowed to sell the products they produce. Just like any other market, you’ll find produce, cheeses, and meats. But this market also features natural beauty care vendors. This farmers market is also unique in that it is the only farmers market in Atlanta, GA or all of Georgia to be attended primarily by pedestrians and bicyclists.

Hours: Open Tuesdays, 4 pm to 8 pm, Apr to Oct

Address: 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308

Morningside Farmers Market

Are you bummed about not being able to shop for local produce in the Winter? The Morningside Farmers Market is open 52 weeks out of the year. This market prides itself on staying small and intimate so that you can get to know the people who produce your food. It’s also the only farmers market in Atlanta, GA to require all food to be certified organic.

Hours: Open Saturdays, 8 am to 11:30 am, all year

Address: 1393 North Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, Ga. 30306

Freedom Farmers Market

The folks at this market are serious about feeding Atlanta, so they’ve partnered with Wholesome Wave Georgia in the Georgia Fresh 4 Less program in order to make their customers’ EBT dollars stretch even further. Through the market’s token system customers are able to double every dollar they spend through SNAP. Freedom Farmers Market also features a kid’s tent, live music, and a local chef preparing hot food. No wonder so many folks drive in from Atlanta and beyond to visit this market.

Hours: Open Saturdays, 9 am to noon (Jan and Feb), 9 am to 1 pm (Mar to Dec)

Address: 453 Freedom Parkway NE, Atlanta, Ga. 30307

East Atlanta Village Farmers Market

This farmers market isn’t just about the food (though there’s plenty of that). You can also find artisan goods, such as soap and jewelry. There are also chef-led cooking demonstrations where you can sample fresh-cooked cuisine while learning about food preparation, as well as an on-site Edible Learning Garden that features garden education and activities for the kids. No wonder the East Atlanta Village Farmers Market won the Reader’s Pick for the Best Outdoor Farmers Market in Atlanta’s Creative Loafing Magazine five years in a row. This is definitely a must-see among the farmers’ markets in Atlanta, GA.
