#1. The Toyota Corolla Cross

If you are looking for an SUV that drives a lot like a car, offers a similar fuel economy, and has easy handling, which makes it perfect for those who commute to the busy streets of nearby Atlanta, check out the Corolla Cross. It is available in a traditional gas model as well as a hybrid model. So, with a reasonable starting MSRP, combined with a hybrid powertrain option, the Corolla Cross can be a major money saver, not only at the dealership but also at the pump.

Available in all-wheel drive, the Corolla Cross offers excellent command on wet roads while still keeping you in the small SUV space if that’s what you’re looking for. The Corolla Cross can even tow 1,500 lbs, so if you want to drag a small vessel like a boat or camping pod to your weekend getaways, the Corolla Cross can handle it.

#2. The Toyota RAV4

The RAV4 is a compact SUV that has been a part of the Toyota family for decades. In fact, 2024 marks the 30th birthday of this compact SUV. It is also available in a hybrid option, as well as an electric option. So, if you’ve always loved what the RAV4 had to offer but have been wanting to take advantage of a hybrid engine, you can do so with the 2024 RAV4 lineup. However, do note that if you want the front-wheel drive model, you will have to get the traditional gas option; the hybrid models are all-wheel drive only.

The traditional gas engine model can tow up to 3,500 lbs, the plug-in hybrid model can tow 2,500 lbs, and the traditional hybrid model can tow 1,750 lbs. If you are looking for a great off-road SUV and only need seating for five, check out the RAV4 TRD Off-Road trim on the gas engine model. Alternatively, if you’re purchasing the hybrid model, you can consider the Woodland edition with its trail-tuned suspension and all-terrain tires. The RAV4 is really a terrific small SUV for adventurers and explorers. So, if you love planning trips to Red Mountain State Park for fishing, hiking, swimming, and more, consider the RAV4.

#3. The Toyota bZ4X

The bZ4X is a new member of the Toyota family, having just arrived on the market in 2022 worldwide. It is a part of Toyota’s Beyond Zero initiative, which strives to move the lineup toward an all-electric one. In fact, the letter B and the letter Z in the name are nods to the Beyond Zero plan.

This 100 percent electric compact SUV is available with a single or dual motor, and the EPA estimates it has an all-electric range of 252 miles. So, it’s ready to handle your daily commute and weekend road trips without needing frequent stops to plug in. This is a beautifully striking SUV with undeniably futuristic looks. It is known for its excellent standard infotainment and tech features, including a standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen. If you are looking for a cutting-edge and innovative SUV, consider the bZ4X.

#4. The Toyota Venza

The Venza is a hybrid compact SUV, making it the two compact SUVs on the Toyota lineup with no traditional gas engine powertrains. The Venza has a distinctly cosmopolitan aesthetic, and almost every trim is a luxury trim. With an available Star Gaze fixed panoramic roof, an available premium sound system, courtesy of JBL, and an available Digital Rearview Mirror with Homelink, the Venza has established itself as a sophisticated option that offers a VIP experience.

#5. The Toyota 4Runner

The 4Runner is Toyota’s midsize SUV. It has been part of the Toyota family since 1984 and offers a wonderful balance of convenience, comfort, and utility. In fact, unlike many midsize SUVs, this one can actually be ordered in a three-row configuration. So, if you love all that the 4Runner has to offer but need more than five seats, consider a three-row version.

To give you an idea of how rugged this SUV is, instead of being available in all-wheel drive like the other models up until this point, it is available in four-wheel drive for some truly off-road-ready handling. Its excellent ground clearance is good for that, too, as is the available Multi-Terrain Monitor, which gives you views of strategically placed cameras around your vehicle when tackling unpredictable trails.

Capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds, the 4Runner is certainly a great camping companion that can drag a decently-sized trailer or boat to your destination. Drivers love the variety of trim options, including an off-road trim, a luxury trim, a performance-oriented trim and even a work-oriented one.

#6. & #7. The Toyota Highlander & Grand Highlander

If you’re looking for that perfect three-row SUV for family life, whether you’re picking kids up from Hayes Elementary School or making runs to the nearby Walmart Super Center, consider the Highlander. This is Toyota’s three-row SUV and is available in a traditional gas engine or hybrid model as well as in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive versions.

The Highlander is known for terrific storage options, including easy-to-configure seats that you can fold down to make extra room when you need it and tons of cubbies throughout the cabin. If you want more cargo space and passenger space, consider the Grand Highlander, which is the elongated version of the Highlander. While the traditional Highlander sees an overall length of 194.9 inches, that number jumps to 201.4 inches in the Grand Highlander. Additionally, you’ll find more legroom for rear-seat passengers in the Grand Highlander. It’s also available in a traditional gas model and two hybrids, including a turbocharged hybrid model not available for the traditional Highlander, which gets you 362 hp.

#8. The Toyota Sequoia

Finally, we land at the Sequoia, Toyota’s hybrid full-size SUV. It is only available with a hybrid powertrain, so it delivers terrific fuel economy for a massive people hauler. The Sequoia is known for its beautiful and comfortable cabin as well as its stunning available 14-inch touchscreen—the biggest in the Toyota SUV family. The Sequoia will have more interior room and trunk space than the Grand Highlander and can tow up to 9,250 lbs. Whether you are doing a pickup at Cobb County International Airport and need room for tons of luggage or you want to fold down those seats and make room for camping gear, the Sequoia is ready for what you have planned.
